'When I checked the Dotterel yesterday afternoon, despite spending quite a while looking, they were not in view. So I went back this morning and there was a single Dotterel, which allowed me to walk within 20 yards of it, at which point I backed off - no point in getting any closer. This bird is not one of the 4 yesterday. My guess is it is a tired new arrival. A female I think, maybe 2CY.' DN

'The same field had 5 Wheatears this morning and the 4 Dotterel, but the Dotterel had gone this afternoon, with a Merlin beating up the Wheatears.' DN

Shelduck

'.... attached is an image of a Shelduck feather found in our garden on 9^th April.  It was part of a clump of about 10 feathers all with the quill snapped / bitten-off at the base.  I haven’t seen a Shelduck near the village for many years so something of a mystery as to how these feathers arrived.' SS

Pied Wagtail

Two younger Pied Wagtails invaded the territory of a breeding pair only one outcome there , fight !! Each had a differing plumage though, this one is the resident adult male.

This one is a 2cy bird a blacker bird of the two young ones.

This one is also a 2cy but what a beautiful transitional plumage it has.
