Lapwing, Yaxley Lode, 26th June 2021 © Vince Lea
! A sandy-looking
plover in with a flock of lapwings! We got a few glimpses in flight but mostly
it was hunkered down in the beet field. I got a terrible picture hand-holding
the camera at 120x zoom, but it was too small to see enough on the camera
viewing screen. On getting home and looking at it on the laptop it is clearly
just a very weird sandy coloured lapwing. There are 9 normal
plumage Lapwings in the photo, the one in the middle row is the odd one. It
looked very striking in flight.' VL
