Iceland Gull, Peterborough. 7th February 2021 © Mike Weedon
'We have had three
Iceland Gulls just east of Peterborough in the Nene valley in the last month.
There is a grey-backed second-winter, a pale juvenile, and a darker juvenile.
All have been coming to the Fitzwilliam Bridge area, only a mile east of the
city centre, encouraged by thrown bread. The second-winter is the keenest on
the hand-outs, but the darker, longer-winged juvenile has also been down to the
water, including yesterday (Sunday 7.2.21) when I took these.' MW
