'It's the 4th large white-winged gull at Milton within the last month (with possibly a 5th reported today). It looks initially like a 2nd winter and appears almost completely white in the field but the eye colour and bill pattern might suggest a very worn, pale 1st yr bird. Quite small too, so probably a female.' JH
