'Please can you put these photo's of the 'Iceland Gull ' at Dernford which from the points made below I believe to be a Kumlien's Gull..
'Dark markings on P7-P10 reaching and darker than primary coverts, most importantly on the outer webs. The outer primaries form a contrast with the clean inner primaries. Solid dark tail contrasting with white rump '

Jack Snipe

'This is a juvenile, identified by a few small
feather details. Some half dozen jack snipe are on the Dunkirk scrape on any
night all winter, but ringing shows that there's a constant turnover of
individuals. Unusually, this individual was present in daylight. The dorsal
sheen and golden stripes are stunning, but hidden underneath is a mesmerising
metallic purple. One of Britain's most beautiful birds, surely.' TM
