'Can anyone confirm the i.d. of this duck? I posted it on Birdguides this morning as a juvenile ruddy shelduck, but now I think it is a male Cape shelduck Tadorna cana.' DR

'This is good news. Tufted ducks have bred several times at Fowlmere, but only once since 1994 (in 2012). There have been two pairs present this year, so we may yet see a second family.' DR

'I looked out a bedroom window at 7 this morning and saw a turtle dove sitting on the fence a few feet away.  First time I have seen this delightful bird in my garden.   I live in Fulbourn with fields behind.   ....photos not that good as taken through glass but great to be able to see a turtle dove so clearly in the garden.'
