Starling

'A few photos of the starling roost which develops at Dunkirk each summer. They dive in to the bramble thickets on the islands in the lake, just outside my house. Flock size is up to 10,000. There are 3,754 birds in image 572 (Lower image). Yes, I counted them!' TM

Little Egret

is rewarding when birds use the habitat we provide for them. This little
egret landed next to Reedbed Hide in a tiny pool we have created. It had a very
successful foraging technique, disturbing the sediment with one foot
to flush out prey for it to catch.' DJR
