'The kingfishers are showing well at the Reed-bed hide but can be seen at the other two hides with lots of patience and a bit of luck.' GH

Spotted Flycatcher

'This is one of a pair nesting at a traditional site used for at least 30 years to my knowledge. A very old ivy covered 25 feet high north facing red brick wall. It could well be 100 years and more. The wall was built in the 1700s. How many generations would that be?' PM

Oystercatcher with Avocet Chick

'Avocet juv M8 was one of a brood of two. At about a month of age it was suddenly adopted by an Oysterctacher pair which already had two of their own young of the same age. From then on, the Avocet abandoned its own parents and behaved just like a juv Oystercatcher, soliciting food from the adults. It fledged and is still flying around with the Oystercatcher family.' TM

Pacific Golden Plover

'Here's a montage of dodgy digiscoped images of today's Pacific Golden Plover at Burwell Fen. Unfortunately they are about the best of the bunch and certainly wont be winning any prizes, but better than nowt I guess! I've also attached a page of field sketches and a few notes, produced whilst observing the bird.' RJ
