Kingfisher

Kingfisher, 24th July 2020 © Ed Gill
'It flew past me on a stretch of Bourn Brook but didn't call and divert off over land as they usually do. It turned, hovered for a second and flew back past me to perch on an overhanging old post, one that I've always hoped a kingfisher would land on but have never seen! These actions seemed different and when I luckily got a bit closer without it flying off, I saw it had dark feet rather than red. An adult zoomed by a few minutes later and the youngster called and followed it off.' EG
