'The BHGs at Dunkirk have been slow to form nests this season, though numbers of adults are about what we had last year. I wondered whether any Mediterranean Gulls would pitch up. One did so briefly 10 days ago (with a colour ring, but I couldn't see it well enough to read, dammit), but this morning what I presume to be a 1CY med arrived ... and then at lunchtime a pair of unringed adults.'
