'Sanderlings put in a strong passage this spring, with birds most days from mid-month and a peak of 10 present. This movement was noted at many inland sites in other counties. Despite what is reported on information services at Grafham this reflects a constant turnover of new birds, as evidenced by plumage features - it is unusual for any to stay overnight here in spring.'
