friend took these images last weekend near Stretham of a cormorant tackling an
eel - and coming off second best. Apparently the cormorant couldn't subdue the
eel, which eventually broke free and then attacked the cormorant, biting it
around the chest (unfortunately the second photo is not as clear as the
first, although by the cormorant's expression the eel's got hold of something!
The eel then chased the cormorant, at speed, across the water until the
cormorant took flight.' Geoff Barlow who submitted the images on Helen's behalf.
