'The shot of the bewicks today was fortuitous, not least because it shows female ZCL - a bird with a rich history of sightings. She was ringed at Slimbridge in 2001, and has subsequently been seen 60 times all over Western Europe. Sometimes she winters in Holland or Germany, but this season she's come to the Fens near Ely.'
