Mediterranean Gull
Mediterranean Gull, Foxton Area, 23rd February 2014 © Toby Austin
'... something of a rarity for bird-free Foxton! Found amongst twenty or so Black-headed Gulls and a single Common Gull in a temporary pool created by the recent wet weather in a field to the south of the village. I relocated it later that afternoon amongst a large number of gulls following a plough between Fowlmere RSPB and Manor Farm.' TA

Common Whitethroat

'...dreadful photos I know, but might be worth posting just in case someone in years to come questions the identity of a wintering Whitethroat at Ouse Fen. Although obscured you can see the wing formula / rufous wing patch reasonably OK.' RT

Gullfest
Various Gulls, Milton Tip, 20th February 2014 © James Hanlon
'.... not sure if these pics are of interest to anyone who's not a Larophile but they're a good test of I/D skills - 6 spp present, including 1st yr Caspian top left and glaucous (bottom right). There's currently 10 species in total visiting the tip which is impressive.' JH
