Barn Owl
Barn Owl, "Cambridgeshire Fens", 30th May 2008, © Ed Frear
These are two shots of the same bird, so the apparent darkness of the bird in flight is a deception of the light. The mammal is presumably a Common Shrew (RGN).

Blue-headed Wagtail
Female Blue-headed Wagtail, Melbourn, 10th May 2009 © Steve Cooper
The worn greater coverts and tertials indicate to Steve a 1st summer female Blue-headed Wagtail although the yellow in the supercillium may point to a flava x flavissima hybrid (Channel Wagtail). It is paired with a male flavissima. Steve would welcome further observations.

'This may be 'old hat' to many, but it really does seem to say Chaff-Chiff decidedly more than the commonly accepted Chiff-Chaff - at least that is what my ears tell me!' AG

Feral Pigeon

This striking bird is now a regular visitor to my garden feeders with a couple of normal plumaged feral pigeons. Is it albino or leucistic?
