Despite putting up 8 flycatcher boxes, they preferred to nest here this year. Not long to fledging now.

The sight of a Grasshopper Warbler singing in the open is a rare sight which Jamie has captured well, despite the light being too bright which, in itself, is somewhat of a rarity this year.

While waiting for the superb Whiskered Tern to re-appear, this rather smart first-summer Little Gull came in and hawked insects over the Windsurfing Pit - SE

Panda Falcon?
Mystery Falcon, Fowlmere RSPB, May 10th 2008 © Geoff Harries. Doug Radford reports this strange looking raptor - "Panda Falcon" that was photographed from Reedbed Hide at Fowlmere RSPB on May 10th. It apparently spooked the ducks on the mere, so might be a large bird. It is possibly an escaped falconer's hybrid though it does appear free of jesses. [Or maybe it is just a Hobby (RGN)]. (JL).

These Storm Petrel images were taken by Chris Orders who was fishing from a boat at Grafham at the time I arrived and kindly agreed to take my camera out to the bird to get some record shots.
