Long-eared Owl
Long-eared Owl. Location with-held, 24th April 2008 © Garth Peacock
To find this species sitting out in the open is a rare find and it was not in the least concerned with me taking photographs from the car just 10 metres away.
Kingfisher

A not unusual sight on the river Cam these days.

Cetti's Warbler
Cetti's Warbler, Fen Drayton GP, 23rd April 2008 © Garth Peacock
Hearing the song close up still did not prepare me for an unexpected appearance, much of the time, too close for the camera to focus. What a thrill never-the-less.

Little Owl

A call from a friend alerted me to this bird showing well although against the light.
Common Sandpiper
Common Sandpiper, Grafham Water, 14th april 2008 © Garth Peacock
Normally very flighty, after half-an-hour of stalking, this bird allowed me to get close enough for a decent shot for an unexpected bonus to a most successful time on the dam.
Yellow Wagtail
Yellow Wagtail, Grafham Water, 14th April 2008 © Garth Peacock
Four forms of Wagtail on the dam within a couple of hours. This beauty completed the set.
Grey Wagtail

While I was waiting for the Yellow Wag to pose, I could'nt resist a quick shot of this as it walked in front of my lense. First time I have seen one on the dam.

Blackbird

This partial albino has been knocking around Richard's garden for several years. As Richard says - a sort of reverse Ring Ouzel.

Reed Bunting
Male and Female Reed Buntings, Little Gransden, 9th April 2008 © Adrian George
After the visit if a female Reed Bunting to Adrian's garden a couple of years ago and nothing since, recent visitors include a male and two females.
Little Ringed Plover
Little Ringed Plover, Grafham Water, 7th April 2008 © Garth Peacock
The most difficult bird I have ever photographed due to it's extremely quick movements and in poor light. An hour spent and 150 discarded shots later, just a handful of acceptable photos.
Meadow Pipit

To have both Meadow and Rock Pipit together to compare really helps to show the identification differences.
